Congratulations to Data Analysis Contest Winners!

We're very excited to announce the winners of the first CMF Data Analysis Contest, where we encouraged graduate students to take advantage of the many CMF datasets collected, cleaned and posted on our website from field-based studies. Out of several dozen candidates we have selected the two papers which best leveraged our datasets. Congratulations!

First Place Team: Ketaki Deshpande of the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics & Radhika Joshi of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy for their paper titled, "Matching loan borrowers and loan strategies for microfinance loans: A Case against self-selection." For this paper they used the VWS First Intervention Baseline Dataset.

Second Place Team: Randeep Kaur and Radhika Kapoor of the Delhi School of Economics for their paper titled, "Microfinance
Financial Inclusion Of All Or An Empty Hope For The Desperately Poor?" For this paper they used the Spandana Baseline Data as well as the Loan Contract Information Data.
