Objectives of the study:

  1. To explore and document the pattern of growth and development and status of microfinance in 5 districts of Assam
  2. To find out the role of institutions, organizations and other bodies engaged with microfinance activities in Assam and their models in practice and to understand the status of outreach of financial services among the poor of the state
  3. To examine the issues concerning the MFIs or SHGs and other functionaries in the state of Assam
