Katherine holds a Master's Degree in Modern Middle Eastern and North African Studies from the University of Michicagn whre she had a Foreign language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship for 2 years. During her master's she spent a summer in Jordan, studying Arabic and researchering Jordanian perceptions of Iraqi and Palestinian immigrants. At Michigan she researched the impact of Ramadan on maternal health care choices. She also has an A.B. in Economics and Certificates in Near Eastern Studies and Dance from Princeton University. She joined CMF formally in November 2009 and is working in Gujarat on a project looking at the long term impact of having access to microfinance.
