Matt Thanabalan holds an A.B. in Economics from Brown University. In college, he researched the sustainability of microfinance institutions in northeast India, specifically looking at how climates of political instability affect these institutions and their client businesses. Matt joined CMF in June 2010 and is currently working as a Research Associate on a randomized evaluation of rural microfinance in Tamil Nadu.
