Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training Programme organised by KPMG is a 32 hours classroom programme that aims at training individuals to improve business productivity by eliminating waste and reducing process variations. Jan 07, 2018 “Humans come and go, but humanity survives.” The 10th edition of the Lakshmi Bal Mahotsav was celebrated at IFMR on the 7th of January 2018. The Lakshmi Bal Mahotsav was started at IFMR in the year 2009 in the memory of late Lakshmi Iyer who was a student at IFMR. She loved kids and liked to do social service. This year Samarthan came up with the initiative of awarding scholarship to the most meritorious student in the school which Samarthan teach in the memory of Saurav Rakshit, an excellent student who passed away in an accident. 21st November, 2017 “Trade Mania”, a trading simulation event was conducted by “Arthasabha”, the Finance committee of the Institute for Financial Management and Research proved to be an enriching and exciting experience for the future finance managers. The students participated actively and each team had students from both the batches which helped the juniors to take a cue from their senior students. IFMR had the honour of hosting Mr. Kalyanaraman Srinivasan, Senior Manager HR at Renault Nissan, for an interaction with the students on Corporate Practices on 25th November 2017. It was quite an interesting interaction with an array of questions being asked and Mr. Kalyan (he likes to be called so) answering them with the right amount of relevance and purpose. He was appreciative of the kind of questions that were asked and shared his thoughts on the prevailing HR practices in the industry. He also touched upon the imperativeness of possessing people skills in addition to the technical acumen.
