Government of India's Ministry of HRD- NIRF 2018 ranking has been released today and in the Management Institutes category, IFMR has been ranked all-India 34 (moving up from 38 last year) among the management institutes around the country. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,”
IFMR has been ranked 25 (All India) in the 2017 management institutes rankings by National HRD Network (NHRDN) and Shine.com. (Published on March 14, 2018) The methodology involved a research partner (Cinque Education Pvt Ltd) and senior NHRDN corporate representatives spending an entire day at the participating B-School to verify the data they have shared. The process looked at the most comprehensive and holistic definition of what it means to be a B-School,and focussed on all the three elements of knowledge creation, knowledge application, and knowledge dissemination.

IFMR Signs MoU With Deakin University, Australia Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), India and Deakin University, Australia signed a MoU on April 11, 2017 to work on academic collaboration in various areas ranging from research to exchange programmes. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof P K Biswas, Director, IFMR, India and Prof Gary Smith, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement), Deakin University, Australia. MoU Signed between IFMR and Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA, Government of Meghalaya) and Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for various areas of Cooperation. The areas of collaborative activities under the MoU includes training needs of Natural Resource Management, Livelihood Promotion, Financial Inclusion and Entrepreneurship.
