IFMR is very happy to welcome Dr V Anantha Nageswaran as the new Dean who would steer the B-School in its next phase of growth and development. He assumed his duties on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Anantha-Nageswaran graduated with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 1985. He obtained a doctoral degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts in 1994 for his work on the empirical behaviour of exchange rates. Between 1994 and 2004, he worked for Union Bank of Switzerland (now UBS) and for Credit Suisse in Switzerland and in Singapore.
Government of India's Ministry of HRD- NIRF 2018 ranking has been released today and in the Management Institutes category, IFMR has been ranked all-India 34 (moving up from 38 last year) among the management institutes around the country. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,”

IFMR Signs MoU With Deakin University, Australia Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), India and Deakin University, Australia signed a MoU on April 11, 2017 to work on academic collaboration in various areas ranging from research to exchange programmes. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof P K Biswas, Director, IFMR, India and Prof Gary Smith, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement), Deakin University, Australia. MoU Signed between IFMR and Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA, Government of Meghalaya) and Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for various areas of Cooperation. The areas of collaborative activities under the MoU includes training needs of Natural Resource Management, Livelihood Promotion, Financial Inclusion and Entrepreneurship.
